Exploring badges for hustle plays
We are looking into badges that reward approved defensive and effort plays, not just hitting.
What we've shipped, what we're working on, and what's next. Pin anything you care about and check back. We update this page as work moves.

Lineups, scorekeeping, stats and scorebook photos
We are looking into badges that reward approved defensive and effort plays, not just hitting.
We are looking into a player page breakdown of innings and fielding plays at each position.
The position pop-up is now a dashboard card, and players can mark positions to avoid, which lineups try to honor.
With a game open in another tab, an older saved score can no longer replace the one you just entered.
Fixes you make while other innings are still processing are kept, with a saving status and a retry if a save fails.
Generate Lineup now weighs notes like preferred positions, runner speed or arriving late, and coaches can switch this off.
Games, RSVPs, subs, rosters and calendar sync
Scored games now drop off after two days and unscored ones after a week, so upcoming games stay in view.
Teams list duties like scorebook, snacks or field prep for each game; players sign up, or a duty stays with one person.
A privacy setting lets you share your number with all captains, your team, just your captain, or organizers only.
When a player has back-to-back games at different parks, coaches and admins now see a warning on both games.
The Find Subs button is more visible, so coaches can look for fill-ins without hunting for it.
Subs no longer see a team’s games on their dashboard or calendar unless a coach actually added them.
If adding or editing a player does not save, the form stays open with your details and an error you can retry.
Subs in Find Subs are now labeled with the teams they actually play on, not the team asking for help.
The roster no longer offers Invite for players who already have a way to sign in, by password, Google or Apple.
Coaches can add practices, team socials and other events with their own titles, and players RSVP just like for games.
Changing only where a game is played now updates the schedule for both teams, not just one of them.
Signing up, fees, waivers and payments
Players register alone or in a small group, and organizers build balanced teams that keep each group together.
Registration now shows each season’s unpaid players and signed terms, and a player’s page lists their recent invoices.
A spot held by a checkout that never got started is now released, so a full event does not stay falsely full.
Players can now register for several teams in the same season, each with its own approval and payment.
Event and tournament payments refunded in more than one step now show as fully refunded once the whole amount is back.
Refunding a duplicate charge, or paying again after a refund, now leaves the registration correctly marked as paid.
If two captains, or a captain and the player, start paying the same dues, only one checkout can go through, so nobody is charged twice.
When organizers cancel a paid event, any checkout still open is closed, so nobody pays for an event that is not happening.
Team chat, push notifications and email
Coaches are no longer notified when a sub changes their positions; updates from regular players still come through.
If a sub request sent by push is still unanswered an hour later, the player also gets one email about it.
Sub notifications now read like “Fri, Oct 16 at 9:00 PM” and follow your own clock setting.
Admins can post a short notice, like a field check, to everyone in selected games as a banner, push and email.
Ask your team a quick multiple-choice question in chat and watch the votes come in live.
Coaches and captains get a notification when a player updates the positions they like or want to avoid.
Jump to latest no longer skips messages that just arrived, and pins stay correct after you reconnect.
Unsent text is saved, old messages are searchable, reads follow what you have seen, and admins can review reported messages.
Clearer text, both teams named in the header, visible message actions on phones, and a preview before a GIF is sent.
Reply in threads, pin key messages, land on what is new, and get one push for a burst of messages instead of many.
Instead of a push for every approved play, you get one notification covering everything approved in a 15-minute window.
Seasons, divisions, tournaments, officials, email blasts and the admin screens
Click a team name in the Standings view to open that team’s page, the same as on each season’s own page.
See a team’s past games and where it currently ranks, right on its team page.
A season’s teams and rosters in one place, with links to each player’s page and email for selected teams or people.
Choose specific teams for an email blast, or send only to coaches, captains or players in a league, season or team.
Find any team, player or season from the top bar and jump straight to it.
A Large text size makes the admin screens about 15% bigger and is saved to your account.
Admins can switch the admin area between Dark and Light, and the choice follows them to other devices.
Admins can type part of a name to find a player or team without digging through the People lists.
Tabs like News and Email blasts now stay on screen as you move between admin pages, so you never have to go back.
Moving a game now names the game holding that slot, and schedule editors can choose Save anyway when it is intentional.
The list of games needing a new date starts collapsed on the season schedule, so it no longer covers the grid.
Admins can send themselves a test email blast as soon as it has a subject and body, even with no recipients chosen.
The People page now shows new and returning players, retention by sport, and teams that did not come back.
Trying to remove a field that a season still uses no longer leaves games without a location behind.
The iOS and Android apps, speed, sign-in and offline use
Coaches can print lineup sheets or save them as a PDF from the iPhone app, and the lineup fits on one page.
Pinch and double-tap zoom are off in the app, so you no longer have to restart it after an accidental zoom.
Times across the app now follow your clock setting, and 12-hour time is the default for everyone.
